Terry Smedley, Managing Partner and Executive Designer

After 20 years in the wedding industry, with fifteen of those years dedicated to being an event planner and five as a designer dessert specialist, co-founder Terry Smedley knew her calling and passion in life was found in event design.  With a thorough understanding of the level of attention required for a multifaceted design pre-, post- and during implementation, Terry sought to create a concierge design company to serve clients and their planners alike.  Terry is married and spends her spare time with her husband and dog, Poppy.


 Norma Sobczak, Managing Partner and Executive Designer

Norma is one of the Managing Partners of Bess and Beau and is our Executive Designer for the North Carolina office.  Norma has been designing and producing events for over 20 years.  She has a background in detailed analysis and project management.  Norma is the creative force behind our Custom Decor items, creating many of the designs herself.  She oversees all of the day to day operations in our N.C. office.  Norma is married with two sons and loves spending her spare time with her family or being creative. 



Kerri Green-Scott, Lead Planner

Kerri Green-Scott is our Lead Wedding Planner.  A North Carolina native, born and raised in the Chapel Hill area, she has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from North Carolina Central University and a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Science from California University of Pennsylvania. Kerri is a Certified Wedding Planner and has been successfully planning and executing events since she planned her own 2011 wedding at The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill.  Kerri has an affinity for details and oversees the planning of each wedding and event.



Stephanie Batten, Event Designer

Stephanie is a North Carolina native who has been in the wedding industry since 2016. She has a Bachelors Degree in Education from UNC-Greensboro.  Stephanie loves all things weddings and events, especially bringing together the vision of our clients.  Stephanie also owns her own wedding photography business that keeps her busy when she’s not designing events.  Stephanie is married and when not immersed in the wedding industry is working with her husband to plant a new church in her hometown and teaching 5th grade.


Eva Green-Baysmore, Creative Designer

Eva was born and raised in North Carolina and loves to create things, so she was a natural fit when we were looking for someone to help with paper flower production and crafts.  When she is not working an event, Eva enjoys spending time in the sun at the beach, shopping, and being with her family. She has a love for travel, and enjoys learning about and experiencing new cultures.  Eva also works at Duke University Hospital.



Toby Kennedy – Marketing & Sales Director

Toby is a North Carolina native who relocated with his family to Florida in 2016.  Toby has an extensive background in Sales and Marketing.  He plays a key role in continuing to reach and build the audience for our brand through our website, social media and client contact.  Toby is married with two children.  They enjoy spending time at the beach and exploring the west coast of Florida




Cassandra Heinrich – Design Intern

Cassandra came to us with a love of everything weddings and a desire to learn the ins and outs of wedding and event design.  With a background in the entertainment industry Cassandra is well versed in planning and execution of set design, which carries over well in the wedding and event design world.  We’re looking forward to seeing her designs come to life!




Lauren Spinelli – Design Intern

Originally from North Carolina, Lauren had a lifelong dream of designing weddings and events.  With a background in cosmetics, Lauren’s artistic ability is an exciting addition to our design team in Orlando!  Outside of the wedding industry, she loves spending time with her family and goldendoodle, Stanley.
